WORLD AIDS DAY 2009. Giving More: Starbucks, Dell, Gap

World AIDS Day is Dec 1 and this year, (RED) partners including Starbucks, Gap and Dell will make special increased contributions to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.

STARBUCKS: Will contribute 5 cents for every hand-crafted beverage in US & Canada, and 5p/5 Euro cents for every espresso-based beverage bought in UK & Ireland on Dec 1

GAP: Will contribute 1% of all revenue at participating US and Canada stores on Dec 1

DELL: Will be doubling their contributions on DELL (PRODUCT) RED™ products in US, UK and Japan for the full week of Nov 26 to Dec 2

And as always Bugaboo will be contributing 1% of their total revenue to the Global Fund.

(PRODUCT) RED items are available in more than 60 countries – giving shoppers so many ways to give great gifts while giving back this holiday.

Give (RED). Save Lives.

Thanks (RED) for all these updates on the various options that people will have to BUY (RED) in support of the Global Fund during the Holiday Season. It's greatly appreciated!

I know that I will be supporting (RED) through the purchase of (HALLMARK)RED items, (STARBUCKS)RED items & hopefully a new (DELL) RED laptop!

Thanks for getting the word out on these Holiday shopping options early so that people can keep (RED) in mind next week when they start their Holiday shopping.

Wishing you a very successful Holday Season, my dear friends at (RED).

ALWAYS (RED) AT HEART, debbie:)

Where can we make a donation if we choose not to by a 'RED' product? Would rather my $$$ go 100% to the cause!
ps: Thank you Apple, Dell, Gap, Starbucks, etc for your giving support :)

Lucy,

Yes! You absolutely can donate directly to the Global Fund inspired by (RED). Follow this link to do so: http://bit.ly/A5CZ8. Thanks for the support!

Taking nothing away from the RED partner companies, Lucy's thinking the right way.

Starbucks (for example) will give 5% of purchase revenues on its RED card to the global fund, but it takes a lot of $3 lattes to match the $5 or $10 you can donate directly yourself.

Just sayin' ...

What Lucy and Roberto said is so true, I never thought of it that way. But thanks to all of the companies for supporting the Global fund. Every bit counts.

Awesome that so many companies are teaming up on this!

I am trying to spread the word myself. And, as a pastor, I have some harsh words for Christians about their response to HIV/AIDS: http://leavethebuildingblog.com/2009/12/01/a-new-goal-for-the-church-no-judgmental-bullsht/
