Thanks very much for posting this interview with Bono in (BLOG)RED. Since Bono made sure to get a plug into the interview for (RED), this interview seems very appropriate here. (smile)
Things right now are a bit tough in our movement to make extreme poverty history with the world's governments scrambling to save their financial infrastructures and seemingly leaving their commitments to the world's poor far behind.
But we can NEVER GIVE UP on our goal & we can NEVER GIVE IN to the darkness that is always around us.
We must STAY STRONG & remain focused on our goal of a world of peace with justice for all - and the end to extreme poverty in the world.
And (RED) is a vital part of achieving our goal which is why we must continue to BUY (RED)!

Isn't that amazing? Wiping out malaria! WOW!
Americans are very generous people...(and of course the British are, too!) and we need to use the $700 Billion for something other than bailing out people that knowingly bought housing that they knew that they couldn't afford! Why should we have to pay for that? We also shouldn't be paying all those CEO's those huge exit bonuses, when they didn't do their jobs correctly or they ripped off the taxpayers!
To top it off, the $700 billion "deal" that the Democrats drew up gave carte blanche to the abusers to use that money in any way they saw fit, without any chance for prosecution if they mishandled the funds, AND...any revenue that we may eventually be making would not be coming to the Treasury (back to us, the taxpayers who were footing this bill)...NO...it would be going straight back to the ones who had abused this system in the first place! No wonder the Republicans, who had tried to stop this train wreck from happening years ago couldn't and wouldn't sign it!
