(RED) welcomes Dell and Windows
We're proud to partner with Dell and Windows to offer you the latest way to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. When you choose a beautiful and state-of-the-art PC running Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED, enhanced with special (PRODUCT) RED content like wallpapers and gadgets, Dell and Windows will make a contribution to the Global Fund. It's simple, and it's no extra cost to you.
With each purchase of a Dell (PRODUCT) RED PC, Dell and Windows will jointly make a contribution of $50 to $80 – depending on the PC you purchase – to the Global Fund, to invest in African AIDS programs, with a focus on the health of women and children. Dell will also make a contribution of $5 for every Dell (PRODUCT) RED printer sold.
To put the impact of a single purchase into perspective, the $80 contribution generated by the choice of a Dell XPS One (PRODUCT) RED PC with Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED is equivalent to more than six months of lifesaving antiretroviral medicine for a person living with AIDS in Africa.
Perhaps more than any previous invention, the PC empowers you to change the world. It has fundamentally changed how we connect and communicate with one another, and now it can now help eliminate AIDS in Africa.

from the day my husband loaded the microsoft outlook program onto my apple u2 ipod, i've always mused that if anyone on the planet could bring bill gates and steve jobs together it would be bono. and now both apple and microsoft are (red) partners. dang that makes this girl proud. talk about coexistence in all it's forms . . . .
i'd read a bio this past year that referred to bono as switzerland. peacemaker indeed.
but my husband says first things first - we are in need of a printer. and the timing is providential, we will wait, one of his students is on a Geek Squad at Best Buy and will let us know when they arrive. too cool.
Bono mentioned in an interview out of Sundance that mid-january would bring a great announcement of a new partner for (red), and he did not disappoint.
if i sound a little excited about this, well, u2 3d will do that. i'm in good company too, i'm sure.
thanx (red). you've done well again. hearing Dr. Yunus last week, the new book he has on social businesses, i can't help but wonder if (red) has been a form of profit-making proving ground in a form of social businesses, hopefully a social stock market in the future. i'm very proud of what you have done.
stay close,

Dell’s participation in Bono’s campaign needs to be applauded to encourage other large multi-national to join the fight. Although Motorola and Apple have also joined, it’s having the second largest computer manufacturer and the largest software company joining Bono that is encouraging. Also, Bill and Melinda Gates have been doing phenomenal work in Africa, and here in my hometown, Cape Town. Together we can change the world! – AndyO, Cape Town SOUTH AFRICA.
