Final (RED) update of 2006

Before 2006 is over, I have some exciting (RED) partner updates to share.

MOTOROLA (PRODUCT) RED POP-UP STORE WINS INTERNATIONAL STORE DESIGN COMPETITION AWARD
For Oprah's (RED) shopping spree on Michigan Avenue, Motorola opened a pop-up (RED) store to launch the RED MOTORAZR, and it's won a design award in the 2006 ISP/VM+SD International Store Design Competition! What's amazing is that this temporary pop-up store beat out many permanent store entries.

We're not sure which place it's won yet — we'll find out in January at the awards ceremony. It's also up for "2006 Store of the Year" at this competition, keep your fingers crossed.

MAKE MINE RED TAKES OFF
Thanks to (RED) people like you, MAKE MINE RED, the design-your-own Converse website, is taking off! It’s the perfect blend of individual self-expression and joining (RED).

MAKE MINE RED shoes now account for half of all sales on ConverseOne.com and stays consistently in the Top 5 bestsellers on Converse.com. At this rate, more than 100,000 MAKE MINE RED shoes will be made by people like you and me this year. People all around the country are designing their own Converse (PRODUCT) RED shoes and, in the process, they're directing 15% of their purchase price to the Global Fund. What we love is the fact that Converse isn’t charging more for this — meaning we all get the chance to direct their money to the Fund.

See what you come up with at MAKEMINERED.COM.

What a year! Thank you for choosing (RED).

Thanks bn for the final update for this year regarding (RED). I was most impressed with the 100,000 people who are making theirs (RED) by buying the Converse customized shoes!

I am ONE of these people. I just got the chance to order mine this week and I can't wait to receive my Converse. (smile)

I only wish that y'all could have convinced Converse to set aside a larger percentage of the price of the shoes (maybe 25%) for the Global Fund. I think that would sell EVEN MORE of these shoes.

It has been a STELLAR YEAR FOR (RED) - and 2007 looks like it may be EVEN BETTER than this year.

I WILL ALWAYS BE WITH (RED), as I have been from the beginning, because (RED) has its Heart in the right place - helping some of the world's poorest people have a chance at a productive life.

Take good care of yourselves, bn. I look forward to strengthening our bonds in the New Year.

Blessings surround everyONE at (RED) always.

I AM....ALWAYS(RED)AT HEART, debbie

actually, to me it is no surprise that a venture as over-the-top awesome as yours has brought your partners into contention for some of the most amazing awards and recognition. very very deserving. you've brought world-class vendors on board that have embraced this work and blown the walls off paradigms of promotion in their industries.

wasn't it from the very beginning the idea for the partners to make a profit themselves? profits include not only prosperity but the accolades and appreciation of their industry. Like the Grammys, maybe they're a form of validation from their peers that cannot be matched or touched by anyone.

thanx for sharing this. you are as much to be commended as they are for bringing the inspiration to commerce as you have. everyone wins, especially our african residents on the pills. great great stuff.

an awesome way to start the new year! stay close . . .

Hi! Um, as absurd as this may sound...Just as for spreading the word more about Product(RED), etc., I looked for a group on Facebook to join and to recommend to others...but it doesn't seem that there is an official group. Lots of student-created groups, but not an official group. Am I wrong, or is there a way to put this to the attention of the highers-up? Amazing work, I will continue to support it!

Great to see the large corporations getting involved!

I try to help out (limited budget) as much as I can by programming support websites for infected/affected (see http://www.HIV-Chat.org for HIVchat service).

I am an older person in support of (RED) and I would like to see more products that are "older people" friendly. I will purchase tees or accessories that are appropriate for older people. I stopped shopping the GAP some time ago because their products are designed for a younger generation.
