An INSPI(RED) Night at The Aloha Stadium

Every now and then (lately, more "now" than "then"), someone brings something to my attention that I want to bring to your attention.

A group of (RED) friends and some dedicated U2 fans have banded together to turn Aloha Stadium (RED) during the final show on U2's Vertigo tour in December.

They’ve created a webpage about it here: http://www.geocities.com/onehonolulu/.

91 people have already responded that they are traveling to the show and how they will support (RED) here: http://pub44.bravenet.com/guestbook/3710582405/ (amazing to see how far you're all traveling!).

Thank you all for bringing your (RED) spirits to the show and organizing such a fun and inspiring gathering. Some (RED) team members may be at that show and will keep an eye out for you.

I also wanted to highlight this in case some of you are going to the show and wanted to meet up with other (RED) people there.

Please take pictures and post to them to the (RED) moblog! E-mail your (RED) photos to moblog@joinred.com and they will be posted. You can e-mail the photos from your camera phone, too! Look forward to watching Honolulu turn (RED).

Mahalo,

Colette

hot dang! you made our night colette. i was not aware you all were not aware of this initiative, so great to have you behind us. hans and tina have done an awesome job of getting this together, it's snowballed in to many more of the 91, just that's how many have signed the guestbook. i'm number 92, minor oversight on my part LOL!

i so want to meet any of you. please seek us out, we'll be close to front in GA and hopefully on the rail!

thanx for your vote of confidence on this one. we're all so proud of you and the work for The Global Fund. there are loads of digital camera amongst us (and a few disposables from the likes of me!) that will fill your coffers with happy memories.

stay close, and thanx again,

sammi f(red)enburg =)

Dear Colette,

It is so nice to read about our initiative here on the (BLOG)RED web site. Thank you :)

During the U2 concert tour we have often organized events to support the ONE campaign, but this time we are focussing on (RED), to help boost this wonderful initiative that has recently been introduced in the USA.

I would love to meet with people from (RED) if they will be at the concert, and I'm sure some of the other people in our group would also like that.

We will take many pictures, and will surely send them to you :)

Thank you for (RED), it is wonderful to see how we can make such a positive change in this world, when we team up and work together as one.

Mahalo,

Hans

Dear Colette, thanks for supporting us!

Many of us have spent hours in line for the shows this past couple of years talking about the ONE campaign, MPH, DATA and of course (RED) more recently, and to end it all in Hawaii with some sort of recognition from the "campaign people" is really important.
Obviously it still remains a fans only action, but now maybe even the shiest among us will feel encouraged to talk and talk and talk... and spread the word :)

Make it an INSPI(RED) night...

Hi,

It's such a joy to read your pleased reaction about our Hawaii initiative. What a perfect way to end a tour that brought inspiration to so many people.
If you're up for a read, visit www.myspace.com/gloria002. Hans' efforts for Hawaii aren't there yet. But they will :-)

thank you
Tina

whoo-hoo. thanks so much for supporting us as we support RED. we're all just alittle bit crazy (hence the travelling from far and wide for a concert) but in a good way.

i'll definitely be taking photos and look forward to sending them to you.

Aloha Collette,

I was SO excited to see the offical (RED) blog support the Inspi(red) Night at The Aloha Stadium. I sent the link to Hans (the main organizer of the event) -- and he is so excited about the official (RED) team's support. I see that he has already left his comment on your blog.

Mahalo for helping to spread the word about the Inspi(red) Night at The Aloha Stadium! But, most of all mahalo for you and the (RED) team working so hard on spreading the word of the (RED) initiative - it is truly inspirational!

I would like to thank the people at (RED) for putting this initiative in such a public place.

The zootopian (u2 fan club members) inspi(RED) night at the Aloha stadium is something that is going to be wonderful.

Most of the people that initiated this will be in the GA line, camping out the day before and of the show, so please come over and say hello to us.

As a moderator on U2.com I am constantly amazed and the power that U2 fans have, and how word of mouth sperads about all their ideas in support to relieve poverty and help out their fellow Man.

Hope to see all of you at the show.

The power of the music of U2 is impressive that unites and us to us guide to be better people, better human beings. Thank you very much by the support to the initiative, for the concert I could not take one t-shirt of Red campaign because it isn´t find in Mexico, I buys some RED Articles in Hawaii a day after the concert. See you in the next tour and we will continue supporting the Red campaign not only for the concerts of U2, we need to work as one. SalU2 Angelica

Hey all!
What a great effect the RED is having everywhere! I want to let you know were having a RED Inspi(RED) event as well! Were having a night of entertainment and asking people to wear anything red to show solidarity in fighting HIV/AIDS. The bands have also agreed to donate some of the proceeds to the Global Fund!
If anyone is in or around Pittsburgh this weekend dont miss it!
