(RED) shopping photos
Since Colette gave such an impressively detailed review of our (RED) launch day and shopping spree in her blog entry 2:48am Friday night/Saturday morning, I thought I'd append with some photos.
This sign stopped me dead on my tracks.
I like Mike -- as an Apple employee, he was enthusiastic about (RED) and even posed with his Pocket Karma t-shirt and (RED) iPod for me :)
Gap's store design is stunning.

People LOVED (RED)!!

I just got my iNSPI(RED) shirt recently at the GAP and was so excited to wear it! I like that Pocket Karma shirt too! Where can I get it?? :D
I can't wait to get my (RED) iPod nano on my next paycheck!!
I LOVE (RED)!!!!!!!
I've just about convinced myself that I NEED that (RED) Nano. After all, my dog did eat my Shuffle...
This has to be one of the most brightest ideas that I have ever seen. Everyone buys things. Can't be avoided. North Korea buys plutonium. I buy Oakleys. You might buy cigarets. We need to buy things, just can't be avoided. Whether it is a NEED or a WANT or a DESIRE you will spend money on anything and everything that falls into these categories. ( RED ) should be another category; or at least a WANT that YOU want to participate in. You should buy ( RED ) things. You should help others. Surely you must think, 'phwa, piss off man! i can spend my ka-ching on something else.' You should be ( RED ) in the face for thinking of such a thing when in fact if you can read this I am SURE you can waste money. Why, because $10.00 USD goes towards fighting AIDS in Africa. THAT my friend is the bright idea. Taking some of the money that would normaly go back to the manufacturer of the product and using it to fight the good fight. To fight AIDS. OK off the box now.
Ps. I received this in the mail this morning:
Dear Apple Customer,
Apple is pleased to report that a shipment for the following order is on it's way to you.
PA725LL/A IPOD NANO 4G RED PERSONAL-2ND GEN-USA 1 $199.00
Thank you for shopping at Apple!
Sincerely,
The Apple Store Team
I was quite inspired on Friday afternoon after seeing Bono and Oprah. So, I called up the local Armani store in Vancouver, Canada thinking how great it would be to buy a watch and sunglasses. To my disappointment the store employee informed me that no store in Canada carries (RED). Come on Armani, AIDS has no problem crossing borders so what's your excuse?
I don't think capitalism can cure the problems it creates. But I'm glad there's people doing something to help the world.

I am buying my red ipod tomorrow. I can't wait lol
(RED) is a great idea indeed.
I'm against consumerism, but if the profits from the designer products are going to a good cause and not towards another Hummer for a CEO, then it's cool with me.
When can we see the campaign here in Canada?
you really think $10 is going to cut into the CEO's hummer?
Lol, probably not! But I like to dream ...
OMG that (RED) Nano looks well sexy! And it's for a good cause, too! Perfect!
I would love to by the red nano. Are there any options for people in Australia
This made me think about consumerism and (RED): http://www.theonion.com/content//node/54365
But I bought one anyways...
Hi Fellow RED(ers),
Hailing from Barbados, West Indies, let's make this an international campaign! I LOVE the idea, I believe we're created to make a difference in this world.
I design T-shirts in Barbados for kids, am doing a RED deisgn this year and would like to link arms with the Global Fund....just tell me how!
Lisa from Barbados
I just got my Converse RED... except that they did't have any of the RED features.
Very Lame!
Love my Nano though!!!
Why can't you get (RED) Ipod Nanos in Canada????? Because I live in Canada and have a desire to get my hands on one!
(RED) is absoulutely fantastic, I'm only 14 but I feel so INSPI(RED)to make a difference to the world having learnt more about (RED) and the problems faced in Africa.
I've bought the (PRODUCT)RED iPod and instead of buying the D&G Motorazr, placing things into perspective, I chose the PRODUCT(RED)Motorazr. Now how about a (RED)lipgloss...:P
I think Apple should give more than 10$ to the Global Fund. Apple is selling many more iPods thanks to (RED) than it would do without. The 10$ are not a real donation from Apple, but only a part of the extraordinary earnings they are getting thanks to (RED), as I can see it.
